This masterclass will take us into the realm of fascia and body armouring. Our bodies sculpt themselves around how we feel and that creates patterns within both how we move and how we hold ourselves. It has an impact on our posture and we have the tendency to get ‘stuck’ in that postural trait and therefore ‘stuck’ in that way of feeling – in turn we become more likely to feel a certain emotion, like fear or anxiety, as we hold ourselves, or brace ourselves for the next thing.
There are fascial belts in the body – seven bands – that correlate with the vagus nerve, arteries, veins and organs. This is where things ‘anastomose’ or meet like rivers do.The fascial network is our richest sensory organ and it correlates with the consciousness part of the brain. So I invite you on a mind-body journey – tuning into the body beyond the muscles and gross movements – and into our fascia.
it’s time to relearn the body and release those long-held tensions in order to feel safe and centred in challenging times. We will explore the fascial network, common stress patterns, and use fascial release ball work to explore specific vectors of movement and release long-held tensions that are at the root of our own unique holding patterns.
2 hour Masterclass with Hands-on techniques and powerpoint lecture

Understand the ‘Shultz’ or Fascial bands – How the Body sculpts itself around stress and tension
“I think that fear often feeds upon itself and we’re mostly afraid of the fear, which then gives it greater power… But ultimately we are afraid because we feel vulnerable.”
-Ram Dass
Every month Adam will guide you on an experiential journey through the body with yoga and anatomy. Feel your anatomy from the inside – these classes invite you into a deeper understanding of your body. Creating a deeper awareness of our structure, posture and mobility – understanding how we move, stand, sit, walk and be. How can we embody each asana and learn more about the architecture of our body? Each month, we will explore common patterns, injury prevention and both the functional and emotional anatomy of the body. Tuning into the inner wisdom of the body, the bone, the muscle, the fascia, the viscera – learning to listen.
Adam feels blessed to be teaching Functional Anatomy to future yoga teachers – he shares the anatomy in terms of asana – but also how to how to prevent injury. He nvites students and massage clients to feel into where they hold tension, how they hold themselves and their body armouring – and look at how asana, and breath awareness practices can help pull us out of our postural patterns. We can re-learn on a cellular and fascial level. Adam has done several immersions into Yoga Therapy with Doug Keller and John Stirk – their work has deeply inspired him – bringing him into a much more intimate understanding of not only how asana works, but also how each of our bodies are unique and respond in different ways to movement, touch and even language.
