Join Viriam for a meditation and sauna ritual to close the year and open up to the potential of 2027. We will work with pranayama to calm the nervous system – if we feel calm and centred we can acknowledge what we can consciously let go of and tune into the direction we want to move in. We will work with sankalpa – conscious intentions – far more empowering and long-lasting than a new year’s resolution as they get to the heart of the matter. And we will sow the seeds of these intentions with mantra and meditation. All this and sauna! We will do the meditation and intention-setting within the sacred space of the sauna. It is beautiful to explore pranayama and meditation within the sauna itself – to press pause on the chattering mind – and create space. So there will be conscious contrast therapy with the sauna and cold plunge – time around the fire for intention setting and integration.

Sound healing – Singing Bowl and Mantra
“Our moment-to-moment awareness of our connection to nature is the heart of our sadhana practice.” Maya Tiwari
Meditation and Sankalpa
“A sankalpa practice starts from the radical premise that you already are who you need to be to fulfill your life’s dharma. All you need to do is focus your mind, connect to your most heartfelt desires, and channel the divine energy within.” Kelly McDonigal – Yoga International.
Letting Go
We will take time to feel into what we might need to let go of… to create space… to listen to ourselves… we will write it down and give it to the fire…
Sauna Ritual
Heat/cold immersion through sauna and cold plunge helps us build resilience and clarity. It boosts all parts of the nervous system – sympathetic, parasympathetic and the vagus nerve – it supports our aim of creating a well functioning nervous system – finding balance – feeling safe – sustainable contentment. Practicing pranayama and meditation in the sauna helps us build endurance in the sauna.
Sowing the Seeds
Within the sacred space of the sauna – we will focus on simple pranayama to create space and stability and meditations to create inner focus.
We will keep our sankalpa – conscious intention – very simple. Just three words. Simple is best. During our sauna ritual, I will sow the seeds of words and insights during our meditations – and themes or words might resonate and inspire.
Commitment
We will commit this three-word statement to paper after the sauna. It becomes an anchor to our daily life and can become part of a daily practice (sadhana).
We will finish with a short meditation and a walk to the karma tree.

The Woodland Sauna has a sauna, cold plunge, fire and even a karma tree. There are epic views beyond the woodland oasis. There is a shepherds hut for changing and toilets on-site.
