Embodied Nervous System

Join us for an experiential journey  to meet the wonderful world of your nervous system.  We want to share a variety of conscious practices to help rebalance the nervous system that you can incorporate into your daily practice – cultivating a grounded presence and acceptance. And if you do not have a daily practice – we will hopefully inspire you to create a sadhana (daily practice).

Through yoga, meditation, hands-on techniques, and marma points (Ayurvedic acupressure), we’ll focus on simple antidotes to stress and anxiety –  the ultimate aim to balance the nervous system and activate the Vagus Nerve—our key to self-healing and regulation.

Acknowledging the importance of daily practice in creating a feeling of safety and acceptance,  we’ll also provide quick fixes using micro-meditation and marma point therapy.

What to Expect:

  • Yoga & Nervous System Hands-on Healing Techniques

  • Insights into the evolution of the Nervous System

  • Learn self care techniques – Marma Point therapy (Ayurvedic acupressure)
  • Simple techniques to bring into your every day
  •  Sauna Ritual/ Hydrotherapy

  • Discover benefits of sauna – hot/cold immersion therapy for the vagus nerve

“From the diaphragm upward is the realm of the ventral vagus. This is the place where we anchor in safety and can both self- and co-regulate.” Deb Dana ‘Anchored’

Trust your Body's Wisdom - Simple Techniques to balance the Nervous System

We live in a world where we are always switched on and many people are suffering from burn-out. Working with the Vagus Nerve is a key way to activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System, creating balance and conscious healing.

People with high vagal tone have improved immunity, cell regeneration and deal with stressful situations in a more conscious way.

Increasing your vagal tone activates the parasympathetic nervous system, so having higher vagal tone means that your body can relax faster after stress. It also means we can be more in-tune with their gut instincts. It iconnects to the endocrine system – as it is a pathway for oxytocin and seratonin (gut). It plays a great role in our sense of wellbeing and vitality.

Stephen Porges calls it the caretaker nerve because of its role as a safety surveillance system picking up vital information about our environment through our vagal nerve pathways.

  • We can improve vagal tone through yoga asana, pranayama, mantra and ayurvedic acupressure points (marma).
  • Working with Marmas can boost our pranic energy and can often alleviate physical signs of distress in the body. Marma point therapy is part of ayurveda but it a great compliment to aconscious yoga practice. Marma point therapy focuses on tonifying subtle energy or prana. In our Marma Point Sequence we will work at activating the Vagus Nerve and boosting the Adrenals to prevent adrenal fatigue.
  • Heat/cold immersion through sauna and cold plunge helps us build resilience, immunity and clarity. It boosts all parts of the nervous system – sympathetic, parasympathetic and the vagus nerve – it supports our aim of creating a well functioning nervous system – finding balance – feeling safe – sustainable contentment.

I attended a workshop focusing on the Vagus Nerve – it was an experiential training  and has already in this short time helped me to be much more present in my own life and connect with those that matter the most.. I simply cannot recommend workshops with Adam and Viriam highly enough.
