In this two part online workshop, we will look both at how to Honour our Boundaries – Learning to say No consciously. But also, in part 2 we will look at Dissolving Boundaries – going beyond perceived boundaries and learning to be open and receptive. Together these classes will show us that our boundaires need to be defined, but sometimes they are porous, rather than rigid.. In order to honour our boundaries – we need to work out what they are. This work comes from learning to trust ourselves – we need to listen deeply to our needs and our outgoings and trust that it is ok to say no. And most importantly it is important to say ‘no’ to ourselves. Or let’s reframe that – sometimes we need to say ‘yes’ to ourselves. – to honouring our own time and energy.

Dissolve the illusion of Separation
Honouring our boundaries is not simply something we do with others – often it is us that steps over our own boundaries of time and energy – giving more than we can or feel able to. If we do not trust the bounds of our own energy, it could lead to nervous system or adrenal burn-out. We lose a lot because we do not have clear boundaries. So often connected to our sense of worth – we allow our boundaries to be ‘invaded’ because we do not feel that we are good enough.
Boundaries are sometimes an important mental construct – We need to see where people creep in and we discover we are having an ongoing conversation with someone in our minds – our judgments so often overstep our conscious boundaries. The sensation that someone is getting under our skin – How do we free ourselves of these energetic or mental entanglements?
Class 1 – Together we will work with yoga asana, meditation and mantra to build self-compassion, inner strength and core awareness – we will focus on allowing things to flow and understanding energetic boundaries. Through dharana (focus) and meditation we will create an awareness of how we often allow our thoughts to distract us or get entangled in someone else’s story.
In class 2, we will look at perceived boundaries and how to dissolve them- taking guidance from yogic and Tantrik philosophy and spiritual tradition that helps us trust that we are all connected and that we are bound by an illusion of separation. We will work with asana, movement, meditation and mantra for openness, receptivity and ultimately boundlessness – we will focus on interconnection and the concept of Interbeing from Thich Nhat Hanh.
