Description
Rasa is one of those magic words in Sanskrit… it can be translated as to flow… to savour… to taste… essence… juice… and it can also be how we savour the essence of our emotions… We will look more at the emotional side and the power of our emotions later in the year…
This September, we will look at Rasa in terms of flow and fluidity – lymph, lymphatic drainage and movement as an essential to restoring health and well-being through Autumn and Winter… We will work with asana, repetitive movements and pranayama practices to boost both our lymphatic flow and our immunity.
A healthy lymphatic system is at the heart of our immunity – we will work with movements, breath and touch (marma or ayurvedic acupressure) to stimulate key areas of the lymphatic system – This can help us be resilient as the seasons change by releasing stagnant energy, draining the lymph and re-energizing…
Autumn is a challenging time as the nights draw in and chill winds can get under our skin and into our synapses. Autumn is also a challenging time for our immune systems – so it is a good time to focus inwards and create energetic balance. In ayurveda, any seasonal transition can bring health issues to the surface, so let’s boost our immunity and energy.
September 27th – 3.30pm Dublin/UK time – Recordings will be available for 30 days.
Be ready for movement and meditation… Have your usual props to hand. Always good to have blocks (or large books) a bolster or pillow… blanket, eye pillow… notebook… and an open heart…
Note – Root Down Philosophy Masterclass Rasa and the 9 Emotions will come later in the year and we will be a 4 week sadhana practice… where we will explore through experiential philosophy and self inquiry key insights and motivations from both the 8 Limbs of Yoga and other sacred texts. “My greatest compliment has always been that I teach yoga philosophy in a very down-to-earth way.”
